SecureScan tells you whether a web link is dangerous before you open it. If something is not working, or an answer looked wrong, this page explains what to do.

| SecureScan said unknown. Is the link safe? | Unknown means we could not reach a confident answer — not that the link is safe. It usually happens when the app is offline or the address is too new to appear on any list. Treat an unknown link the way you would treat a link from a stranger. |
| A link I trust was marked dangerous. | Email us the address and we will check it. If it is a false alarm we remove it, and the correction reaches every user on the next list update. |
| A dangerous link was marked safe. | Email us the address. Reports like this are the single most useful thing you can send us, and they feed straight back into the lists. |
| The Safari blocker is switched on but nothing is blocked. | Safari loads the block list once, when the blocker is enabled. Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions, confirm SecureScan is on, then fully quit and reopen Safari. |
| SecureScan is missing from the share sheet. | Open the share sheet, scroll to the end of the app row, tap More, and switch SecureScan on. iOS hides newly installed share extensions until you do this once. |
| The camera will not scan a QR code. | Check that camera access is allowed in Settings → SecureScan. Give the code even lighting and hold the phone about 15 cm away. |
| Does SecureScan work without internet? | Yes, partly. The on-device list works offline. Checks that need a second opinion from our servers return unknown until you are back online. |
| How do I stop sending anonymous counters? | Settings → Security → Help improve SecureScan. Switching it off stops the sending and discards the random identifier the app made for itself. |
| How do I delete my data? | If you never created an account we hold no personal data about you. Otherwise email us and we will delete it within 30 days. |
Send the exact address, what SecureScan said, and what you believe the correct answer is. We check every report by hand before changing a list, so please allow a few days.
